I painted this piece early in the Covid-19 ‘lockdown’ in the UK 2020 – I felt we were all birds, as if trapped in windows, able to see our previous freedoms but without access. Remembering that although the light appears to be from outside, it can be found within if we have only time to be still. An advantage of the situation was the necessity for stillness, resourcefulness and looking inward at necessities and priorities.
